Fundraising Event for Macmillan Cancer
|
![]() |
This term our 6th Form students have been planning a fundraising event for Macmillan Cancer Support as part of their CoPE lessons. Raising money for a good cause is the first of their credits to show that they can work independently and part of a team and communicate with others to complete this task. Our students have had to research and plan the event from scratch then organise every step of the process themselves. They have worked together both in the class and out in the community raising awareness and obtaining the materials they need to run the fundraiser.
On 13th October the CoPE students will be holding a bake sale, car cleaning and a much anticipated ‘soak the teacher’ event from 9.30 to 11.15am so please come and show your support.

What is CoPE?
The Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) is a nationally recognised qualification available at Levels 1, 2 and CoPE Level 3. The qualification offers imaginative ways of accrediting young people's activities. It promotes, and allows centres to record, a wide range of personal qualities, abilities and achievements of young people, as well as introducing them to new activities and challenges.
It allows our students to explore skill sets used in the world of work and build their independence to support their preparation towards an fulfilled and independent life.
